Family & Youth Services

Addiction impacts entire households and tears families apart. Children and teens are particularly vulnerable to the negative effects of substance use disorder in the home. For teens suffering from SUD themselves, early intervention is key and resources are available. These resources exist to keep children safe, address addiction early, prevent cycles of addiction, help families heal, and to provide support for family members of individuals with SUD.

Covenant Health Peninsula Child & Adolescent Inpatient Services - Knox

Adolescent Inpatient Program

Hundreds of concerned parents call Peninsula for help each year. Our professionals work hard to evaluate each situation and recommend the most appropriate, least restrictive form of treatment. Some adolescents, however, may require inpatient hospital care to interrupt their self-destructive behavior.

By utilizing a team approach, Peninsula’s professional staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers and activities therapists begins to address the adolescent’s behavior while searching for underlying factors.

Children’s Services

These programs are designed for children who suffer from a learning disability/attention deficit disorder, behavioral problems or emotional difficulties stemming from a divorce, loved one’s death, or other major stress factors. And, unfortunately many of the children we treat have been emotionally, physically or sexually abused. Too often, children’s emotional and behavioral problems do not get better by themselves, but actually get worse if left untreated. Our programs are designed to provide professional help, identify necessary resources and increase the chances of a better quality adolescence and adulthood.

Withdrawal symptoms from opioid addiction and dependency often include generalized sickness, anxiety, fear, panic, depression, and intense cravings. More often than not, these symptoms are not possible to overcome alone.

Because of the possible discomfort, ReVIDA Recovery® Centers believe in the effectiveness of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) with the use of Suboxone®, which is a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone.
